3 Nephi 27 to 4 Nephi – “There Could Not Be a Happier People”
The teachings of Christ transformed the people in 3 and 4 Nephi in lasting ways. Because they understood his Atonement, they learned how to live as a Zion society.

3 Nephi 27 is one of three places in the Book of Mormon that teach six central elements of the gospel: repentance, baptism, Holy Ghost, faith, enduring to the end, and eternal life. 3 Nephi 27 is based on three points: who will be saved, the role of faith, and judgment.

In 3 Nephi 27, Jesus declares personal ownership or authorship of the gospel he preached and explains it as the carrying out of his Father’s will. Nowhere else in scripture does he connect so directly and succinctly his Father’s will with the Crucifixion, Resurrection, and Final Judgment, and link them to the universal salvation offered to humankind.

What is the significance of the parallels between 3 Nephi 28 and section 7? It is likely that the Savior simply used the same phraseology when speaking to the Nephite disciples and also the Apostles Peter and John. But it is also possible that these similarities may suggest more.
