"preaching tour" with McLellin, but McLellin travelled instead with John F.

Eleazer Freeman (1806-1862), merchant; born at Cavendish, Windsor
County Vermont. Son of Freeman Nickerson (1779-1847) and Huldah Chapman
(1780-1860). Merchant living in Mt. Pleasant, Ontario, Canada in the early

Nickerson,
Freeman (1778-1847), was born in South Dennis, Massachusetts,
Feb. 5, 1778. In 1800 he emigrated to Vermont, where he met and married Huldah
Chapman. They had nine children. Was a commissioned lieutenant in the War of
1812. Joined the Church in Apr. 1833 and served a mission to Ohio later that
year. In Oct. 1833, he accompanied Joseph Smith and Sidney Rigdon on a mission
to Canada. In May 1835, he hosted Brigham Young and William Smith in his home
at Leona, New York. [McLellin]

Freeman (1779-1847), seaman; born at South Dennis, Barnstable County
Massachusetts. Moved to Vermont and married Huldah Chapman, 1800. Officer in
the War of 1812. Joined the Latter-day Saints at Dayton, Cattaraugus County,
New York, 1833. Participant in the march of Zion’s Camp, 1834. Died in Iowa
during the Mormon exodus to Utah. [PJSv2]

Egremont, Berkshire County, Massachusetts. Joined the Latter-day Saints in New
York, 1832. Married Mary Beman, 1834. Participant in the march of Zion’s Camp,
1834. Appointed bishop of the 5th ward at Nauvoo, Illinois, and at Winter
Quarters. Crossed plains to Utah, 1847. Counselor to bishop Edward Hunter in
the Salt Lake City 13th ward. Moved to Bountiful, Davis County, Utah, 1862.
Member of the Davis stake high council. Died at Bear Lake, Idaho. [PJSv2]

Letitia S. Hicklin, and they had nine children. Resided much of his life in
