VAN
LUWEN, Frederick Matthew, born on Feb. 14, 1808, in Nine Partners,
Dutchess County, New York to John VanLeuven, Sr. and Mary Ann Pulver. Married
Lydia Draper on Feb. 14, 1827, had ten children, and died on Nov. 3, 1876, in
San Bernardino, California. Hosted a meeting for McLellin on June 25, 1835, and
bought him cloth for new pants. Was ordained a high priest, seventy, and
Presiding Elder. [McLellin]
Van
Luwen, John, Jr. (1801-89), born on Aug. 10, 1801, in
Dutchess County, New York, to John Van Leuven, Sr., and Mary Ann Pulver.
Married Fanny Draper. Was baptized in 1834 by Brigham Young. Hosted meeting in
Loughborough, Canada, on June 25, 1835. Member of Kirtland Camp. Later
affiliated with the Reorganized Church in Iowa. Died on Apr. 28, 1889, in
Atchison County, Missouri. [McLellin]
Vance,
John (1794-1882), farmer; born in Cook County, Tennessee. Married Sarah
Perkins, 1817. Moved to McDonough County, Illinois. After death of his wife in
1836, married Elizabeth Campbell, 1837. Bishop at Winter Quarters during the
Mormon exodus to Utah. Arrived in Salt Lake Valley in 1847. Salt Lake City high
councilor, school commissioner, justice of the peace. Counselor in seventh ward
bishopric. Died in Salt Lake City. [PJSv2]

G., hosted an appointment in Boone County, Kentucky, May 18, 1836.
