Professor McMurrin responds to Truman G. Madsen’s critique of his essay on Mormon metaphysics (found in BYU Studies 2:1 (1960):101-105). This is a continuation of the debate between Sterling M. McMurrin and Truman G. Madsen regarding Mormon theology. Here McMurrin defends his statements: that Mormonism contains both realistic and nominalistic tendencies on priesthood, that Mormon value philosophy exhibits platonic character, that Mormonism is tritheistic, and that foreknowledge and free will are not contradictory.
