BYU Easter Conference
The 2019 Easter Conference will be held Friday, April 12, 2019, in the Joseph Smith Building (JSB) auditorium on BYU campus beginning at 7:00 p.m. The keynote speaker is Elder Bruce C. Hafen, Emeritus General Authority Seventy. The other two speakers include Richard Lyman Bushman and Barbara Morgan Gardner. Each will speak about various aspects of the Savior, his life, his mission, his Atonement, and his influence on our lives today. The event is sponsored by the Religious Studies Center. New Testament Presentations in Southern California.
Julie M. Smith, author of the BYU New Testament Commentary volume on the Gospel of Mark, will present two lectures organized by the John A. Widtsoe Foundation. On April 14, 7 p.m., at the Newport Beach Stake Center, 2150 Bonita Canyon Dr., Newpoet Beach, 92660, Smith will present “Deepening Your Understanding of the Gospels,” showing how recognizing the Gospels’ unique voices can give us deeper insight into the life and teachings of the Savior.
The Fish Interfaith Center at Chapman University hosts her on April 15, 2019, 7pm, at the Fish Interfaith Center in Orange, California. Her title is “Discovering Mark’s Unique Voice: A Conversation about the Gospel of Mark.”
