Having faith means having complete confidence that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. One who has faith believes that it is only through Jesus Christ that we are saved from sin and death.

The raising of Lazarus seems to have been a major cause in the series of events that led to Jesus’ arrest and death (see John 11:46-51). While the raising of Lazarus anticipates Jesus’ resurrection, Lazarus was raised only to mortal life. This is vividly demonstrated by the fact that Lazarus comes out of the tomb bound hand and foot with grave clothes, but Jesus left his grave clothes in his tomb.
