22. "Inherit the Kingdom of God Prepared for You"
Just as light bulbs light the way for us today, hand sized lamps made of baked clay were used in the ancient Mediterranean world. The nozzle of these lamps held a burning wick that was usually fueled by olive oil. The cavity that held the oil could keep the lamp burning through the entire night, although every few hours the wick would have to be moved. In teaching the importance of righteous living Christ taught that our lamps must always be filled and burning.
Sheep and Goats: Serve One Another
The church does not take lightly the words of the Lord in Matthew 25:35, "For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in." The church has started many programs that allow generous contributions, support, and service to those in need. "It is compensation enough that when we help one of the least of these our Father's children, we have done it unto Him and His Beloved Son."
