Frederick Granger Williams (1787–1842)

Died: October 10, 1842, Quincy, Adams County, Illinois. Sources: (1) Quincy Whig, October 15, 1842, 4. “[DIED] In this city on the 10th inst., Dr. F. G. WILLIAMS.” (2) Certificate in probate file, Quincy, Illinois, Court House, naming Rebecca, his wife, as the administrator of his estate. The certificate is printed with spaces provided for the name of the deceased, the date of death, and the name of the administrator (which I reproduce below in italics and bold): “died intestate, as it is said, on or about the tenth day of October A.D. 1842.” (3) See also Cemetery Book, City of Quincy, Vol. 2, where it also states that he was buried on October 11, 1842, in lot 33, north 13.

Rebecca Swain (1798–1861)

Williams, aged 62 years and 22 days.” (2) “Mother Williams died September 25th 1861,” in “Incidents in the Life of H. E. Crombie Williams 11th April 1899,” autobiography written by her daughter-in-law, recorded in Dr. Williams’s medical ledger, 235, in Church History Library.
