As He Has Spoken
For Spencer W. Kimball
He spoke of a greater miracle
than healing
than angelic visitations
than speaking in tongues,
A miracle that
beautifies
and warms
and lifts,
a second kind of healing
a second kind of seeing,
A miracle that brings
the blessing of peace
from the turbulent storms of hate
of enmity
of distrust
of sin,
the fruit of righteousness
which cannot be bought
cannot be traded
cannot be bartered
but which the poorest
as well as the richest
may have in abundance—
A miracle of cleansing
A miracle of purification
The miracle of forgiveness.
This poem was inspired by the last chapter of The Miracle of Forgiveness.
