Aaron L. West

Aaron L. West is a senior historian in the Historic Sites Division of the Church History Department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-­day Saints. He worked on the team that produced the publication for missionaries to use as they guide visitors at Joseph and Emma Smith’s Kirtland home. Much of the information in this article is taken from that publication. In writing about Joseph and Emma Smith’s Kirtland home, he gratefully acknowledges the careful and caring research performed by his friends Cheryl and Richard McClellan and Mark L. Staker.
