George B. Handley
George B. Handley is Professor of Humanities at BYU, where he has taught since 1998. Trained in comparative literature, his scholarship focuses on the literatures of the United States, the Caribbean, and Latin America. He is the author of two comparative books about the literary cultures of the Americas, Postslavery Literatures in the Americas and New World Poetics. Recently, he has focused his research on literature, religion, and the environment and has just published a book of creative nonfiction, Home Waters: A Year of Recompenses on the Provo River. He is the former president of Mormon Scholars in the Humanities.
