Mario S. De Pillis

Mario S. De Pillis is Professor Emeritus of American Social and Religious History at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He was the second non-Mormon to be elected president of the Mormon History Association. He has written many articles on Mormon and communitarian history, including “The Emergence of Mormon Power Since 1945,” Journal of Mormon History 22 (Spring 1996): 2–32. De Pillis is presently coauthoring a book on the Edward Deming Andrews Shaker Collection (Yale, 2008).
